Louis van Gaal hails dominant Manchester United display over Hull City

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal praises his side's performance after their 3-0 win against Hull City at Old Trafford, describing it as their best of the season.

Louis van Gaal hailed a dominant display as his Manchester United side beat Hull City 3-0 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Chris Smalling and Wayne Rooney netted in the first half before Robin van Persie struck on 67 minutes, and the Dutch boss felt that United's performance at Old Trafford was collectively their best of the season.

"We have dominated the game from the first minute until the last," he told Sky Sports News. "It was our best match [of the season] when you see the full 90 minutes. We have dominated and created so many chances.

"We haven't given any chances away and have kept a clean sheet. I think you have to work hard to improve and the players are doing that and it is nice that we have won three in a row, but we have to improve our style and then the victories are normal and today, we did that."

Van Gaal also reserved a word of praise for Van Persie and claimed that he a "good feeling" about his compatriot's chances of scoring after watching him perform in training earlier this week.

"Of course, it was a beautiful goal," he added. "He scored three on the training ground this week and I had a good feeling for him today."

The win takes United back to fourth in the Premier League table, after they had been displaced by Arsenal earlier today.
