Louis van Gaal expects Manchester United improvement

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal expects his side's form to pick up after they recorded their first win of the season by beating QPR 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal believes that Manchester United are beginning to improve after watching his new-look side hammer Queens Park Rangers 4-0 on Sunday.

Goals from Angel di Maria, Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera gave United their first win of the season, and Van Gaal is expecting his squad to develop some consistency as they familiarise themselves with each other.

He told reporters: "We have always to analyse what we have done and of course the result is fantastic, but we can be much better I believe, so it is a very good start.

"Okay, the result is fantastic, but we can get better and we have made a very good new start."

Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo all made their debuts against the Hoops, while British-record buy Di Maria made his first appearance at Old Trafford.
