Sevilla 'priced out of deal for Man United's Martial'

Sevilla have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United after seeing their loan offer for the Frenchman turned down.

Martial has informed the Red Devils that he wants to leave the club during the January transfer window, and a number of clubs have been credited with an interest in his services.

Sevilla are believed to have approached Ralf Rangnick's side with the offer of a loan deal until the end of the campaign, with the Spanish side covering half of his £200,000-a-week wages.

However, the offer was allegedly swiftly rejected, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Julen Lopetegui's side cannot afford to increase their bid for the former Monaco youngster.

Sevilla have reportedly been told that they would have to cover Martial's entire pay packet in order to sign the 26-year-old for the remainder of the season.

The France international has only scored once in 10 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2021-22 campaign, while he has not featured for the club since the start of December.
