Paul Scholes: 'Jack Wilshere has not improved'

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes believes that Jack Wilshere has not improved since making his Arsenal debut in 2008.

Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes has claimed that Jack Wilshere has not improved since making his Arsenal debut six years ago.

Scholes, who retired at the end of last season, made the remarks on Tuesday night when he was addressing the Gunners' problems as a pundit for Sky Sports.

"Jack Wilshere, he came on the scene and what a really top young player he looked but he's never really gone on," said the 39-year-old.

"Injuries haven't helped him, no, but his development from being 17 years of age... he doesn't look any better a player now than he did when he was 17."

Arsenal saw their Premier League title hopes suffer a setback on Tuesday when they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Swansea City.
