A report claims that Manchester United will have Paul Scholes available for selection against Sunderland following a knee injury.

Paul Scholes could reportedly return from a knee injury during Manchester United's next Premier League clash against Sunderland.

The former England international has spent the last two months on the sidelines with the complaint, which has taken longer than originally anticipated to heal up.

However, he returned to training at United's Carrington base 10 days ago and is now in line to feature against the Black Cats, according to The Telegraph.

The report went on to claim that manager Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to have the veteran back for the trip to the Stadium of Light because it will allow him to rest one of his key midfielders for the FA Cup encounter against Chelsea 48 hours later.
