Cristiano Ronaldo: 'I hope to return to Manchester United one day'

Cristiano Ronaldo refuses to rule out a return to Manchester United, although he admits that he is currently happy at Real Madrid.

Former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he would one day like to return to the club.

The 29-year-old enjoyed six successful seasons at Old Trafford, before making the move to Real Madrid in 2009.

United have struggled to find form since the departure of manager Sir Alex Ferguson two years ago, but the Portuguese insists that the Red Devils will become "a good team again".

"I love Manchester," Ronaldo told the Daily Mail. "Everyone knows that - I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.

"I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.

"I really did love being at Manchester United. Believe me, they will be a good team again. I'm sure of it. It is a great club."

Ronaldo has scored 255 goals in 250 appearances for Madrid, and was crowned as Ballon d'Or winner last year.
