Rio Ferdinand praises young teammates

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has hailed the performance that the younger members of the squad put in during this afternoon's 5-1 win over an A-League All Stars XI side.

Danny Welbeck and Jesse Lingard scored two goals apiece, while the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Michael Keane and Adnan Januzaj were handed minutes on the pitch by David Moyes.

"Good win vs the #allstars ! Welbeck & Lingard with 2 each...All the young lads were on point tonight #fresh," veteran defender Ferdinand wrote on Twitter.

United will now travel to Japan, where they will take on Yokohama on Tuesday morning.
