Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that Nemanja Matic has recovered from a shin problem.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that experienced midfielder Nemanja Matic is now fit and available after recovering from a shin problem.

The 33-year-old has missed his side's last two league games against Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion through injury, while he has not represented the Red Devils in England's top flight since the 3-1 success over Brentford on January 19.

However, Rangnick has revealed that the Serbian is now back in training and could potentially be in the squad for Sunday's Premier League clash with Leeds United at Elland Road.

"Nemanja Matic was back in training today for the first time and he did quite well, so he might be available, maybe even for tomorrow for Sunday against Leeds, but definitely in the next two games. And then we will have to see.

"We will take it one by one, we will try to start each of those three games [Leeds, Atletico Madrid, Watford] with a starting XI where we are convinced that we can win the next possible game."

Matic has again been a regular for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, making 20 appearances in all competitions, contributing two assists in the process.
