David Moyes alleviates fears over Phil Jones injury

Manchester United boss David Moyes alleviates fears over Phil Jones's health by confirming that the defender is "okay" after suffering a concussion.

Manchester United boss David Moyes has revealed that Phil Jones is fine after the defender sustained a concussion in the 2-1 defeat to Stoke City this afternoon.

The 21-year-old collided with opposition striker Jonathan Walters during the first half of play at the Britannia Stadium, resulting in the youngster being stretchered off the field before being taken to hospital.

"Phil Jones had concussion but he is okay thankfully. He has had a head scan and there are no problems," Moyes told reporters.

"You could see it was fierce clash but completely accidental on both players' behalf. Phil hit the ground with his head and that was probably it - you can tell sometimes when they are not right."

Charlie Adam scored twice either side of a Robin van Persie equaliser to give the Potters their first-ever victory over the reigning Premier League champions.
