Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly singles out Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira for special praise following his side's 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho reportedly singled Luke Shaw out for special praise during his team talk after his side's 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night.

Mourinho's relationship with Shaw has been called into question on a number of occasions in the past, with the Portuguese boss repeatedly publicly criticising the full-back.

However, Shaw was named in the starting lineup for Friday's opening match of the new Premier League season and repaid his manager by scoring his first ever senior goal - one which proved to be the winner for United.

Metro reports that Mourinho took the opportunity to praise the 23-year-old after the match, holding a private talk with Shaw after addressing the rest of his players.

Mourinho also reserved special praise for Andreas Pereira, who spent last term on loan at Valencia but now looks set to earn a place in the first-team squad following a string of encouraging displays during pre-season.

United's second match of the season sees them take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
