Juan Mata keen to extend Manchester United winning streak

Manchester United ace Juan Mata says that his teammates can deal with the upcoming fixture pile-up and oversee a "great December" for the team.

Juan Mata is confident that Manchester United are well equipped to negotiate the hectic festive schedule after a series of morale-boosting wins for the Red Devils.

United beat Stoke City 2-1 on Tuesday night for their fourth successive victory - a run that includes beating Hull City 3-0 and defeating Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Louis van Gaal's side have six more Premier League outings in 28 days, but Mata, who struck the winner against Stoke, says that they can enjoy a "great December".

"It was very important to win at Arsenal and then to get two wins in a row at home," he told The Mirror.

"Now we have the chance to have a great December - probably the most important month in the league because we play more [games]."

The Old Trafford club travel to the South Coast for a clash with Southampton on Saturday.
