Report: Anthony Martial snubbed Chelsea for Manchester United

Anthony Martial reportedly turned down Chelsea in favour of joining Manchester United.

The Frenchman sealed a £36m deadline-day move to the Red Devils from AS Monaco, with the fee potentially rising to £58m depending on certain clauses.

However, the Blues were also keen and even trumped the Red Devils' £36m bid, according to French publication Canal +, but the 19-year-old had his heart set on Old Trafford.

A tweet read: "According to our information, Chelsea had proposed more money than Manchester United for Anthony Martial but the player dreamed of the Red Devils."

Martial has enjoyed a fast and furious start to life with United, netting four times already - three of which came in the Premier League.

He is expected to spearhead the attack once again when they travel to Everton on Saturday afternoon.
