Manchester United stop Diego Maradona from congratulating Luis Suarez?

Diego Maradona is reportedly denied access to the away dressing room at Old Trafford in order to congratulate Liverpool striker Luis Suarez on Sunday.

Football legend Diego Maradona was reportedly prevented by Manchester United staff at Old Trafford from congratulating Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after Sunday's game.

The Argentine and his entourage are said to have been given VIP tickets to last weekend's encounter, which ended in a 3-0 win for visitors Liverpool.

After Steven Gerrard converted two penalties, Suarez wrapped up the victory towards the end of the second half, which reportedly prompted Maradona to try to visit the Uruguayan in the away dressing room.

According to The Express, stewards denied Maradona's request because the tunnel, which is said to have been the only way to access the dressing rooms, was full of cameras and broadcasting crew.

Sunday's defeat has left United 12 points adrift of a Champions League spot in the Premier League table.
