Man Utd, Liverpool scout Spanish midfielder

Manchester United and Liverpool look set to battle for the signature of Spanish midfielder Michu.

Sir Alex Ferguson sent his brother to watch the 25-year-old play in Rayo Vallecano's 3-0 win over Betis on Saturday, according to the Daily Mail.

Michu, whose real name is Miguel Perez Cuesta, has scored 13 goals this season and has also caught the eye of Kenny Dalglish.

The attacking midfielder joined Rayo Vallecano after his contract at Celta Vigo expired last year.
