Manchester United reportedly rule out Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in their search for a permanent boss to take over at Old Trafford in the summer.

Manchester United have reportedly ruled out Chelsea manger Thomas Tuchel as an option in their search for a permanent manager.

The German has been linked with a move away from the Blues in the midst of uncertainty at Stamford Bridge, with Russian owner Roman Abramovich listing the club for sale before accounts were frozen.

According to Sky Sports News, Tuchel is not seen as an option by the Red Devils hierarchy, though, as they continue to narrow down their search.

Such an update comes after the German boss guided Chelsea into the quarter-finals of the Champions League through the ongoing rumours around the club, after they secured the continental title in his first season at the helm last time around.

Manchester United are now said to be choosing between four candidates, with Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag continuously tipped as front-runners in recent years, with links growing after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last year and appointment of Ralf Rangnick as the interim supervisor for the remainder of the campaign.

They are said to be joined on the shortlist by Spain boss Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui, who is currently in charge at Sevilla after a spell of his own with the national team and a short stint at Real Madrid.
