Jesse Lingard: 'Manchester United raring to go'

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard says that the Red Devils are 'motivated' to win the FA Cup and finish second in the Premier League table this season.

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard has said that the Red Devils are 'motivated' to win the FA Cup and finish second in the Premier League table in the final weeks of the 2017-18 campaign.

Manchester City currently sit 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League, with United in second - two points ahead of third-placed Liverpool, who have played one game more.

Jose Mourinho's side are in poll position to claim a runners-up spot in the division, while they will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the FA Cup next month.

Lingard has said that United are "raring to go" following the international break.

"We're always ready. As a player you just enjoy playing and you want to play every minute of each and every game you can," Lingard told MUTV.

"There is a lot of motivation for us as a team to go and win the FA Cup and maintain that second place in the league. We get days here and there to recover and that helps keep you sharp and after this break everyone is raring to go now."

Swansea City will visit Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
