Glazers will not sell Manchester United

Manchester United vice-chairman Ed Woodward has insisted that the Glazer family will not sell the club for "many, many years".

It had been suggested that a host of interest in United would prompt the Americans to sell the club they purchased in 2005, but Woodward has moved to quell the claims.

"There is always interest in this business. It is a phenomenal brand and club, but they are not willing sellers at all, they won't even engage, they are long-term investors," he told reporters.

"It's a very popular business that people have interest in. The answer is not for sale. The opportunities that we see going forward and the excitement that they have in this is undiminished. I don't see them selling completely for many, many years."

The Glazer family also own American football franchise the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
