Ryan Giggs hails "brilliant" Gareth Bale for his versatility to play in a number of positions.

Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs believes that his Welsh compatriot Gareth Bale has a bright future.

The duo will face each other when the Red Devils travel to White Hart Lane on Sunday for their Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

"Gareth is brilliant," The Sun quotes Giggs as saying. "He has so much to his game and, over the last season or so, he has improved a lot.

"He is not just a left winger. He can play in various positions. I have seen him play up front for Wales. play off the front and on the right. He is such an exciting player but, more than that, he has a good attitude as well.

"He can go far in the game. And while I hope he has an off-day this weekend, as a fellow Welshman I hope he goes to the very top."

United will head into the match four points clear at the top of the table.
