David de Gea, Nemanja Matic 'to join Manchester United's US tour'

David de Gea and Nemanja Matic could join up with the Manchester United squad on their pre-season tour of the United States, according to a report.

David de Gea and Nemanja Matic could reportedly join up with the Manchester United squad before their pre-season friendlies with AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid later this month.

United flew from Manchester Airport to Los Angeles on Sunday night, and will kick off their pre-season tour of the United States against Club America on July 20.

The Red Devils will then lock horns with San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, before taking on AC Milan, Liverpool and Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup ahead of a clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 5.

De Gea and Matic were among 12 United players to compete at the 2018 World Cup, and they have all been given time off following this summer's tournament.

However, according to ESPN, De Gea and Matic could both link up with their teammates next week, with Spain being eliminated in the round of 16, and Serbia failing to make it out of the group stages.

Alexis Sanchez did not fly out with the rest of the squad at the weekend due to a visa issue, but is still hopeful of joining up with his teammates on the tour.
