De Gea, Costa lead PFA nominations

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane have been included in the PFA Player's Player of the Year nominations list.

Eden Hazard has joined his Chelsea teammate Costa in the list of contenders, which were voted for by the players' fellow professionals.

De Gea, who has had a stellar season for Manchester United, could become the first goalkeeper since Peter Shilton in 1978 to pick up the award, which will be presented to the winner at the end of the season.

Kane has the chance to finish the season with a personal piece of silverware after a campaign that has resulted in him bursting into the England senior side.

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who recently signed a new contract at Anfield, has also been nominated for the award, while Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, who joined the Gunners last summer, rounds off the six-man shortlist.
