Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes reveals that he attempts to model his game on Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he hopes to emulate the longevity of Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta.

During his hugely successful 16-year stint at Camp Nou, Iniesta made 674 appearances in all competitions, helping the Catalan giants to nine La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.

Fernandes has acknowledged that he has always been an admirer of the playmaker and feels that he should have been rewarded with the Ballon d'Or at some stage of his career.

Speaking to Man United's official website, the Portuguese said: "The one I liked to watch and follow was Iniesta, because Iniesta is a mix between an eight and a 10. It is a way I can do better, between eight and 10.

"It is the guy who always likes to have the ball, who always likes to take the risks, and I think Iniesta was one of the best in the world.

"For me, it was impressive how Iniesta finished his career without the Ballon d'Or. With everything he won, it is difficult for me to understand."

Since moving to Old Trafford in January, Fernandes has scored three goals and provided four assists from nine appearances.
