Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup semi-final first leg with Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United will aim to put one foot in the final of the EFL Cup when they meet Nottingham Forest in the first leg of their semi-final at the City Ground on Wednesday.

The Red Devils advanced past Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals to make the last four as they endeavour to get their hands on the trophy for the first time since 2017.

Erik ten Hag's side suffered late disappointment in the Premier League at the weekend, though, as they fell to a 3-2 defeat to leaders Arsenal in North London.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Forest, who drew 1-1 with Bournemouth in their most recent battle.

Jadon Sancho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Fitness
Possible return date: Unknown

Jadon Sancho has now returned to team training with Manchester United after spending time working on an individual program, but Ten Hag is not prepared to rush the Englishman back too soon, and no date has been pencilled in for his comeback just yet.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: Unknown

Centre-back Axel Tuanzebe has now returned to training following a long-term back problem but will not be considered for selection just yet, although he would have been unlikely to start this one anyway.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Donny van de Beek suffered a serious knee injury in the Red Devils' Premier League win over Bournemouth earlier this month, and the Dutchman will not play again this season.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: January 28 (vs. Reading)

Diogo Dalot had to come off with a hamstring problem in Man United's quarter-final win over Charlton, and having not made the trip for the Arsenal contest, the quick turnaround means that the right-back will not return here.

Anthony Martial

Status: Out
Type of injury: Leg
Possible return date: January 28 (vs. Reading)

Anthony Martial was also absent from the squad to face Arsenal after aggravating a leg injury during the Manchester derby, and Ten Hag has ruled the Frenchman out of this one too.

MAN UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for this match, with Casemiro back from a one-game ban served in the defeat to Arsenal.
