Manchester United have revealed that Marcus Rashford will miss 'a few games' with the injury that he suffered against Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The 25-year-old has been in excellent form for the Red Devils during the 2022-23 campaign, finding the back of the net on 28 occasions in all competitions, in addition to contributing 10 assists.

However, Rashford will be denied the opportunity to make his 48th club appearance of the campaign against Sevilla on Thursday due to the issue that he suffered against Everton.

The England international limped off in the latter stages of his team's 2-0 victory after providing the assist for Anthony Martial to double the advantage for Erik ten Hag's side.

After the game with the Toffees, Ten Hag admitted that he was concerned by the issue.

There had been suggestions that Rashford could be missing for the remainder of the season, with his groin believed to be the area of concern.

Man United have now issued a statement, ruling the forward out of Thursday's European clash with Sevilla.

The Red Devils have said that Rashford will be out 'for a few games', but he is expected to return for 'the season run-in' in what will be a huge boost for the club, who are still active in three competitions.

"Marcus Rashford will be unavailable for Thursday's UEFA Europa League quarter-final game against Sevilla because of a muscle injury," read the club's statement on Wednesday morning.

"The forward was withdrawn in the 80th minute of Saturday's 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford and immediately headed to the dressing room for treatment.

"Subsequent assessment of the injury suggested that Marcus will be unavailable for a few games, but is expected to be back for the season run-in."

Rashford will also be missing for Man United's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, and the second leg of their Europa League contest with Sevilla next week.

The statement also suggests that the team's leading goalscorer will be unavailable for the FA Cup semi-final with Brighton & Hove Albion on April 23.

Martial has made a timely return to fitness following a hip problem, though, and the Frenchman could now come into the starting XI for Thursday's contest with Sevilla.
