Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Manchester United will be looking to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they travel to Sheffield United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side beat Brighton & Hove Albion last time out to move into seventh position in the table, one point behind fifth-placed Sheffield United heading into this weekend's contest.

The Red Devils have actually now been victorious in five of their last six matches, while they have only lost once in all competitions since the start of October.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the high-flying Blades.

Eric Bailly

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Eric Bailly remains unavailable for selection as the central defender continues to recover from his knee operation that took place over the summer. The Ivorian is not expected to make his return to the field until the early stages of 2020.

Paul Pogba

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Aston Villa)

Paul Pogba has not played for United since the end of September due to a troublesome ankle injury. The France international, who was strongly linked with a summer exit, could return in early December, though.

Luke Shaw

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: November 24 (vs. Sheffield United)

Luke Shaw has missed United's last 15 matches in all competitions with a thigh problem. The Englishman has now returned to first-team training but it would be a shock if he was included this weekend.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Hip Possible return date: November 24 (vs. Sheffield United)

Axel Tuanzebe had to pull out of the Liverpool clash on October 20 after picking up a hip injury in the warm-up. Like Shaw, the centre-back was back in training on Wednesday, although it seems unlikely that he will be thrust back into action against Chris Wilder's side.

Nemanja Matic

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: November 24 (vs. Sheffield United)

Nemanja Matic has not featured for the Red Devils since the start of October after picking up an unspecified problem. The Serbian is back in training, though, suggesting that a return is not too far away.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: Unknown

Diogo Dalot, tipped to challenge Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the right-back spot this season, has only made three appearances this season due to a groin problem. A recent statement on United's official website claimed that the Portuguese would "soon" be available.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is still recovering from the knee injury that he picked up while on loan at Fulham last season. The defender is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and might not play for United again.

Scott McTominay

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: November 24 (vs. Sheffield United)

Scott McTominay, who has been a hugely important player for Solskjaer this season, is a doubt with the ankle injury that he picked up against Brighton before the international break. The midfielder was absent from Scotland's two recent games and could again miss out this weekend.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this weekend's clash and will have Ashley Young available for selection after the skipper missed out against Brighton due to a one-game ban.
