Schalke 04 director of sport confirms Leroy Sane transfer request

Schalke 04 director of sport Christian Heidel has confirmed that Leroy Sane has asked to leave the club this summer.

The 20-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in European football, with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich being linked to the attacker.

City are thought to be in pole position to sign the Germany international, and Heidel strongly hinted that a move is in the offing.

"Sane has clearly stated that he would like to move this summer. We have to accept it," he is quoted as saying by 101greatgoals.

Schalke are reportedly holding out for a €50m (£42.1m) offer for the youngster.
