Manchester City 'to confirm Thiago Almada next week'

Manchester City will reportedly confirm next week that they have reached an agreement to sign Velez Sarsfield youngster Thiago Almada.

Manchester City have reportedly moved to the brink of completing a deal for Velez Sarsfield youngster Thiago Almada.

The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the top prospects in South American football, having already made 16 outings for his Argentine club.

Almada's form has led to attention from Europe, with City having been linked with an approach for the playmaker throughout this month.

According to Record, City should be in a position to confirm the acquisition of the teenager as early as next week.

The report adds that Almada will spend the next two years on loan at Sporting Lisbon before linking up with City in 2021.
