Manchester City confirm Alvaro Negredo capture from Sevilla

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of striker Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla in a deal reported to be worth around £20m.

The 27-year-old had been expected to finalise the switch following Sevilla's announcement that they had agreed a sale with the former Premier League champions.

City have revealed in a statement on their official website that the forward will join up with his teammates on their pre-season tour with the number nine shirt attributed to his name.

Negredo is City's second signing from Sevilla this summer following the arrival of Jesus Navas.
