Gianluigi Donnarumma set for dream Man City debut as 'finishing touches' being put on £30.3m PSG transfer

Donnarumma's dream debut edges closer as City 'arrange final details' for £30.3m deal

Manchester City are reportedly putting the finishing touches on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and they are in no rush to let Ederson depart before confirming the Italian's arrival.

Donnarumma was frozen out of the PSG squad earlier this summer, as head coach Luis Enrique sought a ball-playing goalkeeper in the shape of Frenchman Lucas Chevalier.

Donnarumma's brutal axe was always likely to precede a Premier League move, and Man City quickly emerged as the favourites to strike a deal for the Euro 2020 and Champions League winner.

According to The Athletic, a deal worth £30.3m is now in place between the two clubs, and the Citizens are busy 'arranging the final details' of Donnarumma's proposed switch to the Etihad Stadium.

The former AC Milan starlet will replace Ederson at Man City, as the Brazilian prepares to make the move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, but the club are under 'no pressure' to accelerate that particular deal.

The Turkish Super Lig transfer window does not close until September 12, meaning that City can prioritise getting a deal for Donnarumma over the line before turning their attention to sales when the English market closes.

Donnarumma could make his debut for Man City against none other than Manchester United on September 14, as the 26-year-old prepares to battle fellow new arrival James Trafford for the gloves.
