Man City lineup vs. Brentford: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Pep Guardiola makes Kyle Walker decision

Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker is not expected to be involved when the Premier League champions travel to Brentford for Tuesday's top-flight contest.

The England international missed Saturday's 8-0 FA Cup annihilation of Salford City, after which Pep Guardiola revealed that he had handed in a transfer request and wanted to explore his options for a move abroad.

As a result, Walker has surely played his final game for the Citizens and should be one of five absentees for Tuesday's game, which Rodri (ACL), Ruben Dias (calf), Oscar Bobb (leg) and John Stones (foot) will also miss.

The increasingly versatile Matheus Nunes operated in a right wing-back role in Walker's absence at the weekend, but Rico Lewis should now displace his Portuguese colleague as Guardiola reverts to the successful Premier League formula from the past couple of weeks.

Josko Gvardiol and Manuel Akanji are also in line for defensive recalls, while Stefan Ortega will likely steal the goalkeeping gloves back off Ederson after the Brazilian started the FA Cup clash with Salford.

As outstanding as hat-trick hero James McAtee was on Saturday night, the youngster's treble should not be enough to earn him a starting role over Kevin De Bruyne, while fellow goalscorer Nico O'Reilly should expect to make way for Mateo Kovacic too.

Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish and Divin Mubama were also among the goals at the weekend, but Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland are now primed for recalls in the final third alongside the in-form Savinho.
