Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Luton Town.

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola will welcome a pair of key players back from suspension for Sunday's Premier League clash with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The Citizens were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa in midweek without the services of Rodri or Jack Grealish, both of whom were serving one-game bans for accumulations of yellow cards.

However, the duo are now eligible to return for the trip south, although Kevin De Bruyne (hamstring) is a definite absentee, while Jeremy Doku's knock will also need assessing in the coming hours.

Most of Guardiola's backline should remain untouched this weekend, as Ederson, Kyle Walker and Ruben Dias all reprise their roles, but the Catalan coach may ponder swapping Josko Gvardiol for Nathan Ake.

A recall for Rodri alongside John Stones would also force Manuel Akanji to take up a spot on the bench, while Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes are wildcard midfield options off the bench for the visitors.

Rico Lewis benefitted from injuries and suspensions to start the contest with Villa, but Grealish should now throw his hat into the ring for a place alongside Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden, unless Doku is able to make a rapid recovery.

After escaping punishment for his outburst towards Simon Hooper against Spurs, Erling Haaland had City's only two shots on goal at Villa Park - being denied by Emiliano Martinez on both occasions - but the Norwegian's spot at the tip of the attack is not up for debate.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Stones, Rodri; Silva, Alvarez, Foden, Grealish; Haaland
