Jack Rodwell eager to prove himself

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell has revealed that he wants to show the club's fans his best form next season.

Injuries limited the 22-year-old to 15 appearances during the last campaign following his summer move from Everton.

However, Rodwell made a late return to the side and scored two goals during City's 3-2 defeat to Norwich City on the final day of the Premier League season.

"I have a lot to prove to City fans, as they haven't seen the best of me yet, so I'm excited about that," Rodwell is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"It's a new chapter for me, and coming back for pre-season will be a fresh start – almost like a new career."

Rodwell has been included in the England squad for their upcoming friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
