Report: City want Rodgers to replace Mancini

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly being lined up by Manchester City to replace Roberto Mancini at the end of the season.

The Reds boss has a lot of support among the City board despite an inconsistent first season at Anfield. He is their top choice to replace the Italian even if City win the FA Cup in two weeks' time.

The People reports that Rodgers was the top candidate to replace Mancini when he was at Swansea City before the Blues turned around their season to win the Premier League last year.

However, his failure this year has led the City to look elsewhere and the club feel that Rodgers's ability to bring the best out of young players as well being bilingual makes him the perfect candidate to succeed the Italian.
