Manuel Pellegrini criticises Chelsea tactics

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini criticises Chelsea's tactics, claiming that they "had nine players in front of the box" in their 1-1 draw.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has criticised Chelsea's tactics as the two Premier League giants played out a 1-1 draw this afternoon.

Andre Schurrle broke the deadlock in the 71st minute, but Blues legend Frank Lampard, on loan at the Etihad, equalised with five minutes to go.

Pellegrini told Sky Sports News after the game: "It was very difficult because [Chelsea] have very good players, but they had nine players in front of their box.

"I think it will be very difficult to defend the title because teams are playing the way Chelsea played against us.

"I didn't think they had an intention to win the game, just to score on the counter-attack."

Manchester City are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table, having now gone three league games without a win.
