Samir Nasri predicts "big season" for Stevan Jovetic

Samir Nasri believes that two-goal Stevan Jovetic will have a "big season" for Manchester City.

Samir Nasri has backed his Manchester City teammate Stevan Jovetic to continue the form that he showed against Liverpool tonight for the entire season.

The striker struggled with injuries during his first campaign in the Premier League with City, but having had a full pre-season, he has earned numerous plaudits which culminated in him scoring twice as Liverpool were beaten 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

"We saw in pre-season that he was on fire and today he scored two important goals. I think it's just the start of a big season for him," Nasri told Sky Sports News.

The goals were Jovetic's first in the Premier League this term, which has taken him just one short of the number that he scored during the whole of last season.
