Man City's Vincent Kompany: 'We still believe we can win Premier League title'

Vincent Kompany insists that Manchester City still hold "belief" that they can retain the Premier League title.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is confident that he and his teammates can still mount a challenge for the Premier League title.

Manuel Pellegrini's men are the current holders of the coveted trophy, but are currently seven points behind leaders Chelsea.

City looked as though they would close the gap to four points last night when they secured a 4-1 win over Stoke City, but Willian snatched all three points for Chelsea in the 89th minute of their clash against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

"Belief never goes," Sky Sports News quotes Kompany as saying. "Past experiences should give us enough confidence to carry on and go for it.

"We needed to focus on our own game and when we do, it gives us enough satisfaction to not care about Chelsea. We know if we are in the right form we can set up a line of results, and that's what we will need for this season."

City's next league game is against Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on February 21.
