Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany believes that the North West club are capable of being crowned Premier League champions once again next season.
The blue half of Manchester clinched their first title in 44 years during the 2011-12 campaign, but relinquished their grip the following season when rivals Manchester United strode to victory.
However, Kompany believes that the club's acquisitions of Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo, Fernandinho and Stevan Jovetic can help launch them back to winning ways.
"A lot of clubs have made statements in the past couple of weeks," the Manchester Evening News quotes Kompany as saying.
"I'd just say we definitely have the intention to be champions again. But, obviously, it will be a long, hard season. We are putting in the hard work now, which is good."
City face South China in Hong Kong this afternoon as part of their pre-season preparations.
