Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has said that their 3-0 win away at Villarreal in the Champions League went according to plan.
A Yaya Toure brace and Mario Balotelli's penalty have edged the Blues closer to the next stage of the competition, and the Belgian was pleased with his side's focus in Spain.
"We still put in a good shift, we just did everything as we planned," Kompany told the club's official website. "We didn't do anything crazy, we were patient and it paid off for us.
"We're scoring goals in nearly every game, there are a lot of partnerships and that's a good thing because we can change a lot of players and not lose any strength.
"We always thought if we do our job properly we're as strong as anyone so we don't need to look too much at the other teams. It's a hard group, but if we do what we have to do we can win any game. Napoli will be a big game but that's why you play in the Champions League."
The Premier League leaders travel to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
