Guardiola: 'We will look to control derby'

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said that his side have improvements to make ahead of the derby showdown with Manchester United.

City have won each of their opening three Premier League fixtures, but they are yet to keep a clean sheet and were pushed by West Ham United before netting a late third in their match before the international break.

Guardiola has acknowledged that his players are still to fully adapt to his style of play but admits that he wants his team to "control" the action at Old Trafford.

The 45-year-old told reporters: "I want to control the game. We know how we are going to play tomorrow - and we know we're going to play a real good team.

"I saw the official games United have played and in every game they've played better than in the one before. Like us. We'll try to continue the things we did good and correct and improve the other things. We have played good in some moments."

Due to their superior goal difference, City only require a draw to remain ahead of United in the standings.
