Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has revealed that the club will hold talks with boss Frank de Boer over a new contract.
The Dutchman is on course to lead Ajax to a third consecutive league title, but his current contract with the Dutch outfit expires at the end of next season.
"We will sit down with a few other people from within the organisation first, but we will open talks with Frank shortly," Overmars told Algemeen Dagblad.
"We have already made that clear a while ago and Frank knows about this. There's little doubt about it that he's the most important guy for us."
De Boer has been linked with the managerial job at Manchester City.
