Corinthians to offer cut price bid for Manchester City's Carlos Tevez

Corinthians reignite Tevez interest

Corinthians president Andres Sanchez has claimed that the Brazilian side have re-joined the race to sign Carlos Tevez, but refuse to offer over £16m for the controversial striker.

The Brasileiro club called off a proposed move for the Argentina international after initially offering a reported £35m in the summer.

Despite seeming to cool their interest in the 27-year-old, club president Sanchez has admitted that they are still prepared to take on Tevez.

"Although many people do not believe it , Tevez is much closer to the Corinthians than you can imagine," Sky Sports News quotes Sanchez as saying.

"The initial offer was £35m and that is now £16m because of all the problems he has faced back in England."

Manchester City, however, have stated that they will not accept a cut price from any potential bidders for the frontman.
