Sergio Aguero to return next week?

Manuel Pellegrini reveals that Sergio Aguero could return from injury in a week, while Yaya Toure is fit to play against Newcastle United.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that striker Sergio Aguero could make his return from injury as early as next week.

Aguero suffered a calf injury in the middle of last month, with initial estimates of a month out being altered to an expected six weeks.

However, the manager has confirmed that Aguero is on track for the initial prognosis of four weeks, while the knock Yaya Toure picked up in the 6-0 win over West Ham United should not keep him out of Sunday's game against Newcastle United.

"Aguero continues working and maybe next week he can be fit," Pellegrini told reporters. "Yaya is okay. There was a little pain in his ankle but nothing important."

City are currently second in the Premier League.
