Sergio Aguero confirms fitness for the Community Shield after knock against Wolfsburg

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has insisted that he will be fit for the Community Shield next weekend.

Aguero took a knock in Saturday's pre-season friendly against Wolfsburg and was substituted as a precaution.

The Argentine striker tweeted to calm City fans' fears, saying: "Good game and another victory to get us to the game on Sunday.

"The kick I received? I'm fine, thanks for asking."

City play Chelsea at Villa Park in English football's traditional season opener on Sunday, August 12.
