Eliaquim Mangala to miss Tottenham Hotspur match

Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala will miss his team's home match with Tottenham Hotspur with a "small muscle problem".

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that defender Eliaquim Mangala is missing from his squad to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday lunchtime.

Mangala made his fourth appearance for the Premier League champions in a 2-0 victory at Aston Villa before the international break to help them move into second place.

However, Pellegrini has revealed that a "small muscle problem" will keep the 23-year-old on the sidelines for their match with Spurs at the Etihad Stadium.

Mangala, who cost £32m when he moved from Porto in the summer, is expected to be fit for City's match with CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.
