Manchester City confirm that defender Eric Garcia has been released from hospital following his collision with teammate Ederson during Wednesday's win over Arsenal.

Manchester City have confirmed that defender Eric Garcia has been released from hospital following his sickening collision with teammate Ederson on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old required oxygen and a neck brace during lengthy treatment on the pitch after Ederson came rushing out of his goal and clattered into his defender when clearing the ball.

Garcia was carried off on a stretcher and subsequently taken to hospital, where he was held overnight for tests.

However, he has now returned home and will continue to be monitored by Man City's medical staff in the coming days.

Aymeric Laporte earlier confirmed that his fellow Man City defender was "OK" following the injury, which came in a match that Man City went on to win 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
