Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham

Manchester City will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens made it five victories from five Champions League group-stage matches on Tuesday, coming from 2-0 behind to record a 3-2 success over RB Leipzig.

Pep Guardiola's side have drawn their last two league matches against Chelsea and Liverpool, though, with the results seeing them drop off the top of the table, currently sitting second, one point behind leaders Arsenal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Tottenham, who will enter the contest off the back of three straight league defeats.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

De Bruyne has been on the sidelines since August due to a hamstring problem which required an operation, and the Belgium international will not be available for selection until early 2024.

Matheus Nunes

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Tottenham)

Nunes was not involved for Portugal over the international break due to a muscular problem, and he also missed out against Liverpool and Leipzig, so the midfielder remains a major doubt for this match.

Mateo Kovacic

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: December 3 (vs. Tottenham)

Kovacic remains a major doubt for the game with Tottenham due to the thigh problem that forced him to miss out for Croatia during the international break and also against Liverpool and Leipzig.
