How Manchester City could line up against Cheltenham Town

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester City could line up for their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

Manchester City will be looking to make it 10 victories in a row in all competitions when they travel to Cheltenham Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola's men have been in incredible form over the past two months, last losing a game in November and going five matches without conceding.

The Citizens now turn focus to the FA Cup, with Guardiola expected to rotate his side for this clash against League Two side Cheltenham.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how City could line up at Whaddon Road.

Possible MCI XI vs. CHE

Out: Nathan Ake (muscular), Sergio Aguero (coronavirus)
Doubtful: Aymeric Laporte (thigh), Kyle Walker (thigh), Kevin De Bruyne (muscular)

A number of fringe players, such as the likes of Cole Palmer, Tommy Doyle and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, are pushing for inclusion - all of whom have a strong case for starting.

Guardiola has plenty of squad depth across the pitch other than up top, where Gabriel Jesus is likely to be his only available option as Sergio Aguero has tested positive for coronavirus.

Zack Steffen is now City's cup goalkeeper and seems certain to get the nod over Ederson to start this match, with Aymeric Laporte a contender to feature in front of him.

The French defender has been struggling with a thigh issue but is now back in training and this seems like a good chance to start rebuilding his fitness.

Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne sustained injuries against Aston Villa on Wednesday, though neither player would likely have played any part in this cup tie.
