Sergio Aguero could potentially receive a three-match ban from the FA following his two-footed tackle on Chelsea's David Luiz.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could face a forced spell on the sidelines if the Football Association take retrospective action against the Argentina international.

The 24-year-old escaped punishment from referee Chris Foy, despite launching a two-footed tackle into Chelsea defender David Luiz during City's 2-1 victory over the Blues in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley yesterday.

While the challenge only warranted a free kick to Chelsea from Foy, the English governing body could issue Aguero with a three-match ban following talks with the match official, according to Sky Sports News.

Despite the controversial incident, City were able to keep their lead and book a place in the final against fellow Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic.
