Manchester City draw Real Madrid in Champions League group stages

Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the Champions League group stages after the two sides were paired together in a 'group of champions'.

The Citizens were the penultimate team to emerge from the pot of second seeds and could have been placed alongside either Madrid or AC Milan.

It was Steve McManaman, formerly of both clubs, who paired the Premier League and La Liga winners together.

Dutch title holders Ajax and Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund followed City and Madrid into a star-studded Group D.
