Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Madrid

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Real Madrid

One week on from a closely-fought 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Manchester City and Real Madrid prepare for battle at the Etihad Stadium in Wednesday's winner-takes-all return fixture.

The Citizens fell behind to a Vinicius Junior thunderbolt at the Santiago Bernabeu, but an equally sublime effort from Kevin De Bruyne saw Pep Guardiola's men deservedly take a draw back to base.

A 3-0 win over Everton at the weekend, coupled with Arsenal's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion by the same scoreline, has also put Man City on the brink of a third consecutive Premier League title, which they will wrap up by beating Chelsea next weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the second leg with Carlo Ancelotti's side, whose 1-0 La Liga win over Getafe at the weekend was not enough to delay Barcelona's title coronation.

Nathan Ake

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: May 17 (vs. Real Madrid)

Due to a hamstring injury picked up in their win over Leeds United earlier this month, Nathan Ake was not available for the first leg or Sunday's success over Everton. The Dutchman was feeling "much better" last week, according to Guardiola, but he failed to make the squad for the trip to Goodison Park and is facing a race against time to prove his fitness for Wednesday.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Manchester City have no suspended players for the second leg.
