Joaquin claims that the time is right for him to play abroad, after completing his move from Malaga to Fiorentina.

Joaquin has claimed that the time is right for him to play abroad, after completing his move from Malaga to Fiorentina.

The 31-year-old winger has signed a two-year contract with the Serie A club, with the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

The former Spain international has said that he is happy the move has been finalised.

"I chose Fiorentina because there were several weeks of [Fiorentina technical director Eduardo] Macia telling us of the Viola's plans," Sporting Life quotes him as saying.

"I was sure it was time to play in Italy, it will be a good experience."

Joaquin has also played for Real Betis and Valencia.
